Six month appointment

( his x-ray at the appointment )

Even though it has almost been seven months since Brad's accident, he had his six month appointment on Tuesday. Dr. Allen said that Brad's back looks great and that at his one year appointment he will give him the okay to go back to totally normal life. He is also totally off of blood thinners now which is wonderful!

Speaking of getting back to normal, Brad was lucky enough to get a new paraglider. He still has to get a trike though because there will be no more foot launching for him.

Pumpkin Shake at McD's?!?!

Has anyone besides me noticed that those golden arches have a pumpkin milkshake? On Friday while in Pocatello with Brad I noticed that they have a pumpkin shake on the menu and was elated because of my love for pumpkin everything during the fall so I just had to try it. When we ordered it the person on the other end of the speaker hadn't even heard of it. Let me just tell you it was a little piece of heaven. When I was done I wanted to lick the cup but since we had snuck it into the dollar movies in my purse I had to refrain. I have yet to see if they have it in the Blackfoot McDonald's but I have been craving it like crazy ever since.

I think everyone should try it!

Happy 3rd Birthday to this little Buzz Lightyear!

Alaska

So this post has taken me awhile to get around to but during the last week of July, me and Brad, along with Brady and Karin were able to go on an Alaskan cruise. Anyone who knows me knows I get terrible motion sickness and that on our honeymoon cruise I was sick the whole entire time, but I am proud to say this one was much, much better, I only threw up once.....

so without further ado, here is our trip in pictures:

Day one on the Ship:
Day one was spend at sea. First thing in the morning we had safety checks were we had to go to the life boats we would get on if our boat turned into the titanic. This was the first time on the trip I got mistaken for a 12 year old.....

We were also able to go next to the Hubbard Glacier which was probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Seriously the pictures do not give it justice. It was HUGE and looked the bright blue color looked like a giant snow cone. Not only was the color amazing but the sound of the ice cracking off was awesome.

Day Two:
We spend the second day in Juneau. We walked around into lots of shops and B-rady bought me some awesome earring that are supposedly made out of Wolly Mammoth tusk.

Day Three:
Day three was spend in Skagway. Its an awesome little town that looks like it came straight out of a western movie. Again we walked around to all the shops, then headed back to the ship to eat all the free soft serve ice cream we could.

Day Four:
Sitka. It was a pretty town but not much to it. We got awesome ice cream bars and then went back to the boat to again enjoy the buffet. I think that morning at breakfast was the second time I got asked if I was twelve......

Day Five:
on the morning of day five we awoke in Ketchikan. I loved our stay in Ketchikan because we went to the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show and rented awesome golf cart things. We drove to McDonald's and got Sundays and then drove to a salmon hatchery and watched them jump up stream.

Day Six:
We spend our last day at sea and looked for wild animals ( we saw NONE, except for a whale the first day during safety checks ) We ate a lot at the buffet and really enjoyed ourselves.

Other Highlights:

*There was the formal night where we were able to go to a special concert with the guy from the Eagles.
*"free" virgin pina colata's that turned out not to be so free
*Being in Canada for about 2.5 min. it was nice.
* getting asked if I was between the ages of 11-15 about 6 times.
*Buffet.

All in all awesome trip!

4th of July

For the past three 4th of July's, we have headed up to Island Park for the annual Jensen/Freeman family reunion.

We had a pretty sweet set up this year. As you might be able to see from the picture our two man tent is a little small. I couldn't even lay straight if that's telling you how small it was, but it was still perfect.

On Saturday we played on the 4 wheelers and were able to watch the fire works that they shoot off from lake view lodge. It was freezing cold but way worth it.

Sunday morning we did fishing and then attended the raffle. We ended up winning an air mattress and I won a key that could of potentially open a treasure chest. If my key worked we would of won a trip to St. Thomas which would of been AMAZING.
My key turned all the way around but it unfortunately didn't unlock the chest. So close!! We had a amazing 4th of July this year.

Brad Update:

At Brad's last appointments, which were in June, he was able to stop wearing his turtle shell and was told he needed to stop using his crutches so that he leg would heal faster. He has been doing awesome and walks with just a little limp. He is literally and walking miracle because of how quick he has healed and how well he is doing. He has started physical therapy and is really liking it so far.
